Instead of thinking about a boundary as a fence or something you put up around yourself, boundaries are a way to increase your own self-awareness and fill up your own cup. When we are constantly giving our time and energy to others without setting time aside for ourselves, we can’t possibly show up to these interactions from a place of wholeness. Boundaries prevent us from feeling drained and allow us to take control of our time and energy so that we can serve ourselves and others in the most fulfilling ways.
